Revaluation of Agricultural By-products: The Case of Rice Bran

One of our greatest AgriFoodTech breakthroughs stems from a powerful question:

How do you transform an agricultural byproduct into a functional super-ingredient?

In partnership with the rice industry leader ARROCERA LA ESMERALDA (Arroz Blanquita), we identified an extraordinary opportunity.

This company produces approximately 10,000 tons of rice bran annually, currently destined for the livestock sector due to the presence of an enzyme that prevented its use in human food.

However, rice bran is nutritionally exceptional:

  • 20% unsaturated fat
  • 13% protein
  • 25% fiber

A true superfood.

Our technical team, along with the Blanquita team, developed a process to remove the limiting enzyme, converting the bran into a Food Grade ingredient, suitable for the food industry.

🔬 Engineering + Algorithms = Nutritional Innovation

Our engineering team developed a proprietary algorithm that allowed us to create a baking core enriched with the nutrients of rice bran.

The result:

A solution that adds real nutrition to the Colombian baking sector, optimizing ingredients and generating a positive environmental impact by revaluing an agricultural byproduct.
